OTTAWA - Mike Hoffman and Kyle Turris seem to have found their touch again — and thats good news for the Ottawa Senators.Hoffman, who had one goal in his last 15 games before Friday, scored twice to lead the Senators in a 6-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks. Turris, who had just two goals in his previous 10 outings — both of them on Wednesday — added a goal and an assist on Friday as Ottawa recorded back-to-back wins for the first time since early November. Its something that comes and goes over an 82-game season and you just try to take advantage of when its coming, Turris said of his recent goal-scoring success.I feel like weve been playing better and playing with more pace and better through the neutral zone and I think we showed that.Erik Karlsson had two assists to help out the cause while Milan Michalek, Mark Stone and Mika Zibanejad also scored for the Senators (14-12-6).Craig Anderson made 32 saves to record his second straight win.The Ducks (22-8-5) got two goals from Ryan Getzlaf two minutes and 33 seconds apart over the second and third periods. Anaheim lost for the second time in three games following a 2-1 win at Montreal Thursday. The Ducks also got two assists from Ben Lovejoy and a shaky 25-save performance from Ilya Bryzgalov, who made his first start of the season after being re-signed by Anaheim last week. After scoring late in the second period, Getzlaf scored at 1:49 of the third to quickly cut the Senators lead from 4-0 to 4-2, making for some anxious moments for the home side.Hoffman quickly resolved any tension when his goal at 5:50 of the final period gave the Senators a 5-2 lead. You want to be scoring goals and it does feel good when it happens, but its the National Hockey League and youre not going to score every night, said Hoffman, who had his third two-goal game of the season. You have to be patient and wait for your chances and capitalize when they come.Zibanejad restored the four-goal cushion with his goal at 16:32 of the third. It didnt look like we had a lot of energy, Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said.Im not finding too many positive things. I could do that and use cliches and excuses, but the last time we were in a back-to-back (situation) it was our best game of the year in Winnipeg. It was just not a great effort all the way around. The Senators went into the second period with a 2-0 lead and it looked as though they were headed to the third with that same advantage before three goals were scored less than three minutes apart late in the second.Turris gave Ottawa a 3-0 lead with a short-handed goal, crossing the Ducks blue-line and cutting through three defenders to put a shot over Bryzgalovs shoulder at 16:18 for his third goal in two games.Hoffman intercepted a clearing pass inside the Ducks line just 42 second after the Turris goal and put a quick shot past Bryzgalov for a 4-0 lead and his first goal in eight games.Getzlaf crashed the net and chipped a bouncing puck over Anderson for his first goal of the game at 19:16.We didnt show up in the first period and we didnt give ourselves much of a chance, Getzlaf said. We were missing passes, we were not crisp, we werent fore-checking and the list goes on. They outplayed us throughout most of the game and Im not taking anything away from them. They played well and they executed in their system.Im not going to make excuses for our group. A lot of teams have a lot of road trips so we have to play though them and play all the way through. We didnt show up to play and Im embarrassed. The Senators got a power play just 32 seconds into the game as Lovejoy was called for holding. Michalek made him pay with a goal off a cross-ice slap pass from Karlsson with 29 seconds left in the man advantage.Stone gave the Senators a 2-0 lead when he converted the rebound of a Mark Borowiecki point shot at 8:21 of the first.Notes: Patrick Wiercioch was the lone scratch for the Senators while Devante Smith-Pelly and Hampus Lindholm were scratched for the Ducks. … The win was the first for the Senators over the Ducks on home ice since Game 3 of the 2007 Stanley Cup Final and their first regular season win at home against Anaheim since January 2003. … As a team the Senators went 107 minutes and 55 seconds without allowing a goal before Getzlafs second period goal. Anderson went 115:14. … Ducks forward Andrew Cogliano is the NHLs active ironman leader having played in 575 straight games. Colorado Avalanche Pro Shop. There was little fanfare, though, when the Yankees captain was taken out of his final regular-season Subway Series game in the eighth inning. Jeter watched the last four outs from the bench, pulled off the field during a double switch Thursday night as the Yankees held off the Mets 1-0. Stitched Avalanche Jerseys.com) - John Wall supplied 24 points and 11 assists in leading the Washington Wizards to a 102-91 win over the New York Knicks on Christmas Day. https://www.cheapavalanche.com/. Better still, its in the same team and there are 13 races left for it to develop. Avalanche Jerseys 2021. Vinci also beat Dulgheru last week in Bucharest en route to her first WTA final in a year. Vinci next faces sixth-seeded Kurumi Nara of Japan, who beat Czech qualifier Katerina Siniakova 7-6 (5), 6-7 (3), 6-2. No. Avalanche Jerseys China. And like the near entirety of last season, Jonathan Bernier and Torontos goaltending tandem is up to the task. NEW YORK -- Stalking off the mound, Gio Gonzalez slammed the ball hard into Matt Williams hand without a word. Back in the dugout, Gonzalez had a little more to say to the Washington manager. The pitcher covered his mouth with a towel for a brief -- and lively -- chat with Williams. "He was upset, and I understand it," Williams said after the Nationals lost to the New York Mets 4-3 Friday night. Gonzalez was pulled with two outs and no one on base in the seventh inning when Williams wanted a reliever to face Juan Lagares. In the fifth, Lagares hit a tiebreaking double that helped end the Nationals 12-game winning streak at Citi Field. "We tried our best to diffuse it," Gonzalez said. "Its not bigger than it is." "Theres two sides of that story, too," he said. Williams said he realized his lefty wanted to stay in the game. Asked whether he spoke to Gonzalez about showing such emotion, Williams said: "Thats part of the game, and that was our discussion." The Mets losing streak at Citi Field versus Washington dated to last season, and was their longest in team history against a visiting club. "Well, it is really nice, and we have played them good. They are just really tough," Mets manager Terry Collins said. "There has been a lot of nights where we have had them late in the game and then they come back, do some big damage against us," he said. Washington almost did it again in the ninth inning. Denard Span led off with a single against Jenrry Mejia, and Asdrubal Cabrera flied out to the wall. After Span stole his 30th base, Mejia struck out Anthony Rendon, walked Adam LaRoche and then fanned Ian Desmond for his 26th save in 28 chances. Rendon got three hits, including his 20th homer -- which came after a replay reversal. Washington has outhomered the Mets 32-6 over their last 13 meetings in New York. Dillon Gee (7-7) and a trio of Mets relievers ended the drought, aided when Lagares drove in Eric Young Jr. for a 4-3 lead. Travis dArnaud put New York ahead with a bases-loaded double in the first off Gonzalez (8-10). Three runs scored on the hit, with Lucas&nbssp;Duda kicking the ball out of catcher Wilson Ramos glove for an error.dddddddddddd In his last eight games, dArnaud has five doubles and seven RBIs. LaRoche and Ramos hit RBI singles in the third, and Rendon hit a solo homer in the fifth that made it 3-all. Gee gave up nine hits and two walks in 5 1-3 innings. Carlos Torres threw a double-play ball to end the sixth and worked the seventh, Jeurys Familia pitched the eighth and Mejia closed. Lagares also singled, was hit by a pitch and stole a base. Mets rookie second baseman Dilson Herrera boxed around several grounders. But he also went back for a tricky catch on Cabreras soft liner with the bases loaded to end the second. A day after Bartolo Colon was ejected for hitting two Washington batters with pitches following home runs and a Mets batter got nicked, Williams predicted there wouldnt be any carry-over from the "shenanigans." There were a couple of early HBPs, but no hostility. Lagares was plunked by Washington for the third straight series, and Span was hit by Gee on a pitch that bounced. TRAINERS ROOM Nationals: RF Jayson Werth didnt start, a day after he was hit above the left elbow by a pitch from Colon. Williams said Werth wasnt out because of the plunking, rather it was a day of rest for "dead legs." Mets: 2B Daniel Murphy was out of the lineup, a day after he was hit in the left wrist by a pitch from Nationals reliever Matt Thornton. Collins said the wrist was swollen, but that Murphy said he thought hed miss only one day. UP NEXT Nationals: RHP Doug Fister (13-6, 2.53 ERA) starts Saturday night. He beat Atlanta in his most recent outing, ending a four-start winless string. Mets: RHP Zack Wheeler (10-9, 3.38) gets the ball Saturday night. He won at Washington on Aug. 5 and is 2-4 against the Nationals overall. CHALLENGING Collins challenged after Desmond was ruled safe at first in the fifth inning, beating out a double-play relay. The review upheld the call. Desmond promptly stole second but overslid the bag and appeared to get tagged before he returned to the bag. With the Mets out of challenges, though, Desmond was safe again. Wholesale Jerseys ' ' '
