Montreal, QC (SportsNetwork.com) - Rookie Josh Jooris scored twice and six Calgary Flames players had at least two points in a 6-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday. Markus Granlund, Curtis Glencross, Lance Bouma and Mark Giordano also scored for the Flames, who returned the favor after losing 2-1 in a shootout to the Canadiens last Tuesday in Calgary. It was Montreals first loss in five home games this season. TJ Brodie had three assists for Calgary and Jiri Hudler and Johnny Gaudreau added a pair of helpers each to back 18 saves by Jonas Hiller. Max Pacioretty and Rene Bourque scored for the Canadiens, who have lost three of their last four (1-2-1). Carey Price gave up five goals on 35 shots. Jooris scored his first goal 4:58 into the game on a rebound off Dennis Widemans shot from the blue line, and Hudlers shot in the final minute of the first period hit off Granlunds skate to give the Flames a 2-0 lead. Glencross made it 3-0 with 2:07 remaining in the second period when he got a piece of Brodies wrist shot from the point. Dale Weise hustled into the left corner early in the third period to erase what would have been an icing call and won the puck, leading to Paciorettys goal from the right circle to get Montreal on the board. But Jooris scored his third NHL goal 8:11 later after Brodie hit him with a pass behind three defenders on a power play and he beat Price one-on-one. Calgary pushed its lead to 5-1 at 11:08 after All-Star Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban fell down in front of Giordano, who crossed a pass to Bouma for a one-timer. There was talk earlier this week that Stamkos would return for Saturdays home game against Detroit, the Lightnings final tilt before the NHL goes on hiatus for the Winter Olympics in Sochi, but on Wednesday it was announced that the sniper has not been cleared for game action by Dr. Ira Gutentag. The decision not only postpones Stamkos return to the Lightning, but also will prevent him from representing Team Canada at the Winter Games. The 23-year-old suffered a fractured tibia in a game against Boston on Nov. 11 and has missed the last 39 games while recovering. Stamkos was tied for the NHL lead in goals (14) and points (23) before the setback. "After reviewing the CT scan this afternoon, Dr. Gutentag made it clear to me and to Steven that the tibia is not completely healed and therefore he should not be participating in game action at any time in the near future," said Steve Yzerman, who is the general manager of the Lightning and the executive director of Team Canada. "Although the doctor was very pleased to this point with the healing process, he explained that the callus surrounding the fracture site is not 100 percent consolidated, and Steven will not be cleared to play in a game until that happens. It was a pretty clear cut decision, no gray areas at all." Stamkos will continue to rehabilitate and is expected to be re-evaluated in 2- to-3 weeks. The Lightning will resume play after the Olympic break on Feb. 27 at Nashville. "Today is obviously very disappointing for me," Stamkos said.
