(SportsNetwork.com) - The Minnesota Wild hope to avoid a season-high sixth loss in a row on Tuesday night when they visit the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Wild fell to 0-4-1 in their past five games with a 4-1 setback to the hosting Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday. Minnesota didnt get on the scoreboard until Matt Cookes goal with 4:52 left in the game. Niklas Backstrom surrendered all four goals on 35 shots for Minnesota, which has fallen into last place in the Central Division while going 2-7-4 in its past 13 games. Theres some things that are concerning, Wild head coach Mike Yeo said. The clock is ticking here. The Wild have matched their longest losing streak of the season, though they did manage to pick up three points during an 0-2-3 slide from Dec. 16-27. They last lost six in a row from Dec. 19-31 of last season, all in regulation. The Penguins are coming off Saturdays 2-1 road victory over the Montreal Canadiens, with Sidney Crosby finally picking up a goal with 1:19 to go in overtime after seeing some earlier chances turned aside. Crosby had two separate chances to win it earlier as the clock ticked down to two minutes remaining in the extra session. Habs goaltender Carey Price flashed his right pad on the first chance and seconds later, Crosby actually beat Price through the pads from in close, but Montreals Alexei Emelin came to the rescue and swept the puck out of danger. The hosts were hit with a bench minor penalty with 1:51 left in OT, and Evgeni Malkin slipped a pass into the right circle for Crosbys successful one-timer which ended the contest. We had to start moving the puck around on the power play. Its hurt us in games for sure. We can change momentum with it and win games like we did tonight, Crosby said. But we have to get better on the advantage. In a 1-1 game, obviously Id love to score. I should have buried those earlier chances, but I got the one that mattered. Malkin provided the other tally for the Penguins, who snapped a two-game skid and remained a point behind the first-place Islanders in the Metropolitan Division. They moved to 3-4-2 in their past nine games as Marc-Andre Fleury came up with 27 saves. Though the Penguins have won three of their last four versus the Wild, Fleury is winless against them in five starts. He has lost all five games with a 3.76 goals against average and .853 save percentage. Backup Thomas Greiss made 33 saves when the Penguins beat a hosting Wild club 4-1 on Nov. 4. Darcy Kuemper, currently out with an undisclosed injury, yielded three goals on 21 shots for the Wild. Backstrom figures to start for Minnesota tonight and is 3-2-0 lifetime versus the Pens with a 2.77 GAA and .912 save percentage. Pittsburgh snapped a six-game series home losing streak to the Wild with a 5-2 win on Dec. 19, 2013. China Shoes For Sale . This time, it was Eric Chavezs turn. He also scored in extra time against Dauphin in the round robin. "I guess I just happened to be at the right place at the right time," said Falloon. "Im sure any of the boys could have (done) it. Lucky me, I guess." Falloon missed the first three games of this tournament with his third concussion of the season, suffered in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League playoffs. He missed most of the Western Canadian championship tournament, from which Yorkton qualified for the RBC Cup. Yorkton coach Don Chesney said Falloons return brought life to Yorktons lineup. "He has a flair for the dramatic," said Chesney. "I joked around (saying) his first (overtime goal) didnt make the back of the net. (The RBC Cup-winning) one, I think, made it -- maybe a few inches over the goal-line. But in 10, 20 years, thatll be the nicest goal he ever scored and the biggest goal he ever scored." Johnson also provided some drama as his tying goal, at 17:20 of the third period atoned for an interference penalty he took at 14:05. "To bee honest, when we got that penalty with five minutes left, it was not looking too good, and they shut us down pretty good," said Chesney.dddddddddddd "We didnt create a lot of high-quality scoring chances." Added Johnson: "That (goal) felt great, especially after getting that penalty a couple minutes before that. Getting that goal was unreal. It brought the life back into the fans. After we got that, we knew this was ours." Until then, the Canadians had a good reason to think they would claim the crown in their first RBC Cup appearance. "Looking back on it now, maybe I should have called a timeout after the second goal," said Carleton Place coach Jason Clarke. "But weve just been so resilient all year. Things didnt really seem to bother us." Baylis put the Canadians ahead 2-1 at 4:12 of the second period as he fired a shot from the slot after his teammates fought to keep the puck in at the blue-line along the boards with little space to work with. Sturtz increased the Carleton Place advantage midway through the second, stealing the puck from a Terrier in one corner and skating to the opposite side to put in a backhand. But just when it looked like the Canadians could begin to rest easy, Lishchynsky and Johnson sent the game to overtime, setting up Falloons special moment. "Were proud (of getting to the final), but its a sour taste, for sure," said Clarke. Falloon received advice from his cousin Pat Falloon, the former NHLer who was drafted second overall by the San Jose Sharks after Eric Lindros in 1991. "(Pat) was talking to my dad," said Falloon. "We family-farm with him (in Foxwarren, Man.) We keep in touch with him. He was texting my dad and telling me to keep calm and just do what I can do." The RBC Cup adds a second Canadian junior crown to the extended Falloon family. Pat Falloon won a Memorial Cup with the Spokane Chiefs in 1991, when he was named the tournaments most valuable player. "Ive heard stories," said the younger Falloon. Falloons hockey future is far from certain. He only knows how he will spend his summer. "Were just going to celebrate, and then Im going to go back (home)," he said. "Ive got to get to work on the farm." Notes: The game marked the first time in 19 years that the Canadian Junior A final went to overtime. ... Los Angeles Kings centre Jarret Stoll sent a congralutory tweet to Yorkton for reaching the final. Thats not unreasoanble, Nash has one goal in 23 playoff games with the Rangers over the past two seasons, yet over the past two regular seasons, hes scored 47 goals in 109 games -- his 0.43 goals per game in that span ranks 13th, between Joe Pavelski and Marian Hossa. Expectations are higher and the fact that the Rangers are unable to score, managing five goals in four games against Marc-Andre Fleury (not exactly the paragon of playoff goaltending in recent seasons), only serves to highlight Nashs playoff drought. It should go without saying that Nash generating as many shots as he is (a playoff-leading 45, with zero goals!) makes it likely that he will resume scoring soon but, for the Rangers sake, with time running out, it may not be soon enough. Fatigue, and a compacted schedule have been commonly cited reasons for the Rangers poor play in this series. Whatever the excuse might be, they are left without wiggle room now. They need to win three straight against the Penguins or they will have plenty of time to rest very soon. Martinez extended his hitting streak to 10 games, and Rick Porcello (5-1) allowed two runs and seven hits in 6 2-3 innings for the surging Tigers, who remained five games ahead of the second-place Chicago White Sox in the AL Central. Porcello struck out five and walked two. Even Detroits maligned bullpen looked impressive Wednesday. Joba Chamberlain got four outs in relief, striking out the side in the eighth. Houstons George Springer tried valiantly to make the catch at the wall, but the ball nicked off his glove and went over, and the outfielder fell to the ground. It was Cabreras fourth homer of the year. Porcello allowed a run in the third when Marwin&nbssp;Gonzalez doubled and eventually scored on Dexter Fowlers groundout, but the Detroit infield turned double plays in the fifth and sixth to help the 25-year-old right-hander.dddddddddddd In the fifth, Gonzalez was on first and took off toward second when Jose Altuve hit a grounder up the middle. Detroit second baseman Ian Kinsler, in the area because of the steal attempt, simply picked up the ball, stepped on the bag and threw to first for the double play. Martinez homered to right to make it 3-1. It was his sixth home run of the season, and hes now hitting .318 with only five strikeouts all year. With two strikes on him, Martinez was ready for a fastball. "I was looking high fastball," Martinez said. "As soon as I saw it, I was making sure that I get on top." Houston answered with a run in the seventh, chasing Porcello. Marc Krauss hit a two-out double, Dominguez followed with a single, and Gonzalez singled to drive in Krauss. Chamberlain came on and retired Altuve with men on first and second to end that threat. The big reliever then struck out three in the eighth. "Brad was the first one on the stairs and said, You got the eighth," Chamberlain said. "I figured after we got out of the (seventh) that was going to be the case. Just prepare, look up and see whos going to be coming up for their lineup, and kind of a mental plan of what you want to do. It worked out."
